Integration with the Dropbox file sharing service is to be upgraded to allow for instant file sharing within the chat window - with the image or video showing up in the window rather than the simple link previously on display.
To access the new feature, you will need the most recent versions of both apps. Access Dropbox files via Messenger’s ‘More’ option.
The filesharing integration is just one of a string of enhancements announced by Facebook recently - other additions will allow users to share music via Spotify, or even hail a Uber taxi.
Stan Chudnovsky, head of product for Messenger, said: “We want people to communicate just the way they want to on Messenger, with everyone they care about.
