Extension to Kingsfold estate planned - and 6 other new applications in Chorley & South Ribble this week
Check out some of the most interesting planning applications registered this week in Chorley and South Ribble.
The Kingsfold estate in Penwortham could soon be expanded, if new plans are given the go-ahead.
Almond Estates Ltd are seeking permission to develop seven one-bedroom bungalows on land south of Kingshaven Drive.
The site extends to approximately 0.25 hectares and previously formed part of an equestrian use, including a stable building. It is situated to the rear of existing dwellings on Kingshaven Drive, with vehicle access to be taken from the end of the street.
In 2022, South Ribble Borough Council (SRBC) granted outline planning permission for the erection of four detached dwellings on the land. The previous permission has now expired but Almond Estates say it established the principle of residential development on the site together with its allocation for residential development.
What would the bungalows be like?
Each home would be built to Part M4(2) accessibility standards and would be arranged around a private driveway, which is accessed from Kingshaven Drive. Each property would have a rear garden and one car parking space.
The bungalows would each comprise of one bedroom, a kitchen and dining space, a shower room and a living room. A planning statement says: “The dwellings will be faced in brick with modern brick detailing around floor to ceiling height windows. Landscaping and boundary treatments are also proposed, which include a 1.8m high timber fence.” Ten new trees would also be planted.
A decision will be made in coming weeks by SRBC.
