Evoque splashes out on a new light floor for The Space Centre
Leigh Sweetman, from Evoque in Church Street, presented the grant to The Space Centre in Preston to enable it to reach its £11,000 target for an interactive sound and light floor and ten bespoke safety floor cushions.
The sound and light floor is interactive and suitable for every ability, from those who cannot move very much to others who are more mobile and those who cannot get out of their wheelchair. Being able to make light and sounds happen by a small movement is very powerful and motivating to the centre’s users.

Leigh said: “The donation is from our company’s Echo Trust charity to give something back to our local community. We hold regular collections at the club and our customers are always generous. We nominated The Space Centre to benefit because it is an amazing charity which changes lives.
“I was so impressed when I paid a visit to see for myself the work it does to help young people and their families.”
Jacky Hohol, community fund-raiser at The Space Centre, said: “We get no government support and have to raise funds to repair, replace and update our equipment. We’re very grateful for this generous donation from Evoque and the Echo Trust which will make a real difference.
“It is a brilliant piece of equipment that will help many people and last for many years.”
