Hands up if you want to adopt Enzo!

A gorgeous towel wearing Dachshund named Enzo currently in the RSPCA in Lancashire needs a home.

The one-year-old grey and tanned colour pooch had a difficult start to life which means he has some behavioural quirks which will require work in his forever home.

A spokesperson for the RSPCA said: “Enzo's personality is true to the nature of the breed, he is independent, stubborn and a very vocal boy!

“He forms very strong bonds with his handlers and it can take him a while to get to know new people. He loves playing with his toys - especially anything that squeaks. And he loves to play chase in our off lead pen with his handlers.”

He will occasionally ask for affection - but cuddles are not his favourite thing. He can be quite worried about new experiences and will often bark to let you know this.

New family

His new family will need to be dedicated to his confidence building training and general 'focus' work.

Enzo can bark at people, dogs and traffic so a home with walks which will not overwhelm him and his training can we worked on gradually would be best for him.

The RSPCA spokesperson added: “Due to his uncertainty of new situations Enzo is being muzzle trained and he is doing amazing with this - his future home will need to continue this work so he can happily wear his muzzle when he needs to.

“Although he is extremely cute and small, he needs a home who will take him and his needs seriously. Enzo will need continued positive reinforcement training.

“Due to Enzo's past, he does show guarding behaviour, this will require careful management in the home.”

He would need a home with no children and no other dogs, with few visitors.

Once Enzo is settled he may be able to be left for short periods.
