‘Two brave local lads’
A GoFundMe has been launched by Emma Osbourne, the proud wife and mother of the two men, Sam and Rhys.
She said the woman rescued from the fire is ‘doing just fine’ and has called on the community to raise funds for “a special day out to thank the lads for being the brave and kind men they are”.
Emma said: “Yesterday evening, Sam and Rhys courageously entered a neighbour's home which had caught fire, contacted the emergency services, managed to aid the neighbour to safety and put the fire out.
“The immense pride I am feeling today is overwhelming as a wife to Sam and a mother to Rhys.
“The lady they rescued is doing just fine and left in the ambulance after giving Sam a cheeky wink to say thank you.
“Thanks to Sam's previous work as head chef he applied knowledge, experience and calmness then directed Rhys on what to do.
“Together they entered the house, extinguished the fire and then handed over to the wonderful guys from the local fire service who arrived within moments and were just amazing!
“Acts of sheer bravery and instinctively acting to help someone else should be shared amongst the community to spread hope and joy!
“These two lads deserve recognition and as a family we would like to raise funds to organise a special day out to thank them for being the brave and kind men they are.
“Wishing our neighbour a speedy recovery.”
