Driver injured after crash on motorway
A car hit the central reservation on the M6 motorway at lunchtime.
The vehicle stopped in lanes three and four on the southbound carriageway between junction 31 at Salmesbury and junction 30 at Bamber Bridge at 12.15pm today.
Electronic signs were used to close the two lanes and a rolling roadblock was put in place by Highways England traffic officers while the vehicle was moved to the hard shoulder.
Traffic queued behind the roadblock but a Highways England spokesman said it was cleared by 12.25pm.
The driver was thought to have suffered an ankle injury in the collision.
