
Wireless door chimes manufactured by Swann have been recalled by the maker following the discovery that on a small proportion of units the plastic around the assembly screws on the speaker unit can fracture.
This could lead to the two halves of the unit becoming detached from one another, exposing the live internal electrical components to the user, and thus creating a risk of electric shock if the unit is plugged into the mains electricity supply at the time.
This affects both single chime and double chime packs of the following units:

Affected products would have been purchased between 27 January 2016 and 31 October 2016. No other Swann products are affected.
Anyone having purchased one of these products from Maplin should immediately refrain from using it and return it to the store for a refund.
