The Alzheimer’s Society Forget Me Not group made Blackpool Tower out of cupcakes to celebrate cupcake day today (June 16).

The weekly activity group were trying to stick to their seaside theme, so creating the local landmark was an ‘ovious choice’ according to Sharon Hampson, Peer Support Group Facilitator for the Alzheimer’s Society in Chorley.

Sharon said: “It was a great opportunity to get everyone together socialising, have a bit of fun and celebrate cupcake day.”

Nationally, the Alzheimer’s Society has been encouraging people to take part in cupcake day by bakning, selling, or buying cupcakes at events around the country.
