Care organisation Home Instead for Blackpool and Wyre hosted the ‘time for a cuppa’ coffee morning at Garstang Library.

The special event joined up with the monthly Garstang Memory cafe to help raise funds for dementia patients and their families. Staff from Home Instead were on hand to offer support and advice.

Care manager Michelle Thompson said: “We had a great response to the event and it’s important we raise awareness of dementia.

“We had a chat over coffee and a cake about what support there is for people locally.”

The Garstang dementia cafe was launched by Lancashire County Councillor Sandra Perkins in 2014. Her late husband Alan suffered with dementia.

The cafe is held on the first Wednesday of each month from 10am to noon at Garstang Library
