A 51-year-old woman has been charged and her dog seized by police after a series of vicious attacks in a Bamber Bridge park.

The silver Staffie, a female, is reported to have attacked a number of dogs and people on Withy Grove Park in recent months.

In May, the Post reported that its owner had been issued with a Community Protection Notice after the dog repeatedly escaped from its home in Grove Lane and attacked a number of dogs at the park near its home.

The dog was pictured splattered with blood after breaking loose and mauling others, with horrified dog owners raising the alarm on local Facebook groups.

After being served with the CPN notice, its owner was told she must comply with a number of conditions, including ensuring that her back garden is secure, that the dog is only walked by an adult and that it remains on a 1m lead at all times whilst wearing a Baskerville muzzle.

But the dog continued to escape and was again a menace to other dogs in Withy Grove Park - the largest green space in Bamber Bridge with a popular children’s play area.

Owner charged and named

The dog has now been seized by Lancashire Police and its owner, Kimberley Bond, 51, of Grove Street, Bamber Bridge, was this week arrested and charged.

She is charged with being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control.
