Wanted Preston man, 40, charged with harassment following incidents in Ingol

A 40-year-old Preston man has been charged with harassment following a successful police appeal.

Robert Irvine had been wanted in relation to alleged assaults against the same Preston woman on two separate occasions in July.

Earlier this month, police made a public appeal to help locate Irvine and he was subsequently arrested in Ingol on Thursday night (August 20).

Police said he was briefly bailed for the alleged assault so that officers could pursue 'other enquiries', before being re-arrested and charged with harassment.

He has been remanded in custody to attend Preston Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, September 9.
