A wanted man on a push bike was too slow to evade police and was stopped in Inkerman Street on Sunday (August 7).

Quick actions from the officers meant he was handcuffed and detained before he could pull a “nasty little knife” from his coat pocket.

He was promptly arrested for possession of a bladed article in a public place.

“Another knife off our streets,” a spokesman for Lancashire Police said.

“We will continue to target the individuals who think it is acceptable to put others at risk by carrying weapons in our city.”
