Across Lancashire Road Police’s social media account last week (July 25-31), seven drivers were thrust into the spotlight for various offences.
Between these seven drivers, they included two with no insurance, three with no licence, four under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and one with an unsafe vehicle.
To find out more about how Lancashire Police kept the roads safe last week, look below:
1. Four offences!
Vehicle spotted by HO51 on the M55. Checks revealed there was no insurance, the driver had no licence, and was later arrested for drug driving and possession of class B.
This Vauxhall Corsa was sighted on London Way, Preston in exvess of the speed limit and driving erratically. It was stopped on Flensburg Way by #T1TacOps using pre-emptive tactics to prevent a pursuit. The driver failed a @DrugWipeUK for cocaine and was #arrested.
This vehicle decided the M6 s/b was the best time to message a colleague on WhatsApp. Driver stopped and now faces a £200 fine and 6 points.
4. Revoked licence
The driver of this Vauxhall Corsa thought driving with “L”’plates fitted, supervised and in possession of an old provisional licence would fool #T1TacOps into thinking he was all in order. Checks revealed the driver had a revoked licence until test passed #Reported
