Armed officers and a police negotiator were called after a man was found in possession of a pitchfork and knife in Ingol.

Police were called to reports of a man walking with a sword on Dovedale Avenue in Ingol this morning (May 22).

Video footageshows armed police surrounding a man who is reportedly"holding himself hostage with a pitchfork".

Police have confirmed armed officers and a police negotiator areat the scene.

Police with shields have also arrived at the scene.

15 police cars and an ambulance are at the scene, according to eyewitness reports.
