They can also seize a vehicle if they think it’s being driven by someone who does not have a proper licence or insurance, if it's dangerously, illegally or obstructively parked and if it's broken-down or abandoned. Here are the vehicles removed from the road in and around Lancashire in June. These images are from the 'LancsRoadPolice' Twitter feed.

Guest appearance in West Division for #HO60 in sunny Blackpool. Vehicle seized as insurance policy found to be fraudulent. Driver reported for the offence

This vehicle failed to stop for #HO58 in Fleetwood at 0500hrs. Following a short pursuit, the driver abandoned it leaving the keys in the ignition with this rather ill advised key ring attached! We have a lovely photograph of the driver too! Seized S165

This VW drew the attention of MN18 by driving at 85mph in heavy rain & hogging the middle lane of an empty M6 near Charnock Richard. Maybe if they had passed a driving test they would have known this wasn't allowed. No insurance either. Car seized meaning a long wet walk to Wales

The owner of this moped decided to come out for a ride around Fulwood. He forgot that as a provisional rider he is not allowed pillion passengers and forgot helmets for himself and his 2 friends. Moped seized and court date booked.
