5. Louise Bethany Evans
Vulnerable 18-year-old Louise Bethany Evans was murdered in a Burnley park, suffering 39 knife wounds and head injuries. Anthony Wood, 21, from Burnley, was found guilty of murder and jailed for at least 22 years and 183 days. Matthew Maw, 18, admitted murder and must serve 18 years and 63 days.

6. Claire Atkinson
Mum-of-two Claire Atkinson, 31, died after suffering multiple wounds to the chest, prior to a road crash in Thornton Cleveleys, Lancashire, on April 17, 2009. Alan Entwistle, then 52, is serving 20 years for killing her.

7. Anna Banks
Anna Banks, 23, was strangled by Daniel Lancaster, 25, in Hawley Street in Colne. He claimed she enjoyed being throttled during intercourse. He was jailed for four years for manslaughter

8. Shelley Barnes
Shelley Barnes, 38, was tied up and strangled before her partially-clothed body was found in a bedroom of a property on Hobart Street, Burnley. Her landlord Dean Thompson, 50, of Hobart Street, was sentenced to life in jail and told he must serve a minimum of 17 years.
