Police are appealing for information after a security guard was left needing stitches after an attack at a building site in Blackburn.
The security guard – a man in his 20s – was approached by another man who slashed at him with a "sharp item", causing a wound to his rib area.

Hide AdThe offender, who was wearing dark clothing, then ran off towards Barbara Castle Way.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment, requiring six stitches to the wound.
The incident occurred on Preston New Road, close to the junction of West Park Road, at around 7.30pm on February 8.
Officers are now asking anybody who was in the area and saw anything suspicious, or who may know who the offender is, to get in touch.

Hide AdDC Laura Livesey, of Blackburn CID, said: “The victim in this case was simply going about his work when he was attacked, and clearly this is unacceptable.
"He has been left extremely shaken.
“We are now asking for the public’s help identifying the person responsible.
"If you think you know who it was, or you have information that could help us find them, please contact us.”
