Search continues for wanted Chorley man after suspected arson attack traps family inside burning building

A 24-year-old man is wanted by police in connection with an arson attack which left a family trapped inside a burning building in Chorley.

Fire crews received an emergency call from a home in Vicarage Street, near Erskine Road park, at around 3.10am on Wednesday, June 24.

Three people were found trapped inside one of the upstairs rooms when firefighters arrived, with flames were tearing through the bottom floor of the building.

The terrified family were rescued by firefighters who smashed through an upstairs window before being handed over to paramedics at the scene.

Police have now launched a fresh appeal to help trace Sean Fisher, 24, who is wanted in connection with the incident.

DC Laura Cowell, of South CID, said: "We urgently need to speak to Fisher as part of our ongoing inquiry.

"If anybody knows where he is I would urge them to contact police straight away.

"Similarly, if Fisher sees this appeal, I would urge him to make contact with us immediately."

Sean Fisher, of no fixed abode, is described as white and of medium build and has links to the Chorley area.
