Ribbleton man still wanted seven months after woman is raped in Preston

A man from Ribbleton is still wanted by police seven months after he was named as a 'person of interest' in a rape investigation.

Michael Foster, 37, of Hodder Brook, Ribbleton, is wanted by police in connection with an allegation of rape.

Police were called to reports a woman in her 20s had been the victim of a serious sexual offence at an address in the city in the early hours of July 11, 2020.

Four days later Lancashire Police named Foster as a 'wanted man' in their investigation.

More than seven months have now passed and Foster continues to evade police.

Det Con Sue Wilson, of Preston CID, said: "Foster knows he is wanted by police but has refused to come forward and speak to us.

"We believe he is living in and around the Preston area. It is possible he has told people he is staying with that he is no longer wanted – this is not the case.

"I would encourage anyone who has seen him or knows where he is staying to come forward immediately."

Foster is described as white, 6ft 1in tall, of slim build with short, dark-brown hair. He is clean shaven and has a regional accent.

He has links to the Ribbleton, St Matthews, Callon and Avenham areas of Preston.
