A woman in her 20s was attacked at her home in the city, and four days later, Lancashire Police named Foster as a 'wanted man' in their investigation.

The force renewed its appeal on July 24, after Foster failed to come forward to speak to detectives.

More than six weeks have now passed and Foster continues to evade police.

Det Con Sue Wilson, of Preston CID, said: "We are keen to speak to Michael Foster and would urge him to come forward as soon as possible.

"We want to speak to him in connection with a rape investigation in Preston.

"If you have seen him or know where he is, please come forward and contact us."

Anyone with information can call 101 or email [email protected] or [email protected] quoting log 0369 of July 11. In an emergency you should still call 999.
