As the chase developed, Lancashire Police managed to stop the speeding biker with stingers as the defendant headed back towards the bypass, and a police car blocked the road.
However, there was then a minor collision between the bike and the police car.
Sergeant was arrested at the scene.
He pleaded guilty to charges of dangerous driving on Blackpool Road, driving whilst disqualified, and driving with no insurance.
Judge Dodd imposed an 18 month immediate jail term and ordered Sergeant must undergo an extended retest after his 33 month ban.
He must also pay a £140 surcharge.
