Preston murder investigation: Two men wanted by Lancashire Police after 25-year-old man dies in hospital after suffering ‘serious head injuries’ in attack

Detectives are continuing to appeal for information following the death of Jack Jermy-Doyle.
When and where did the attack take place?
Jack , 25, was assaulted on the junction of Harris Street and Birley Street at approximately 2.40am on Friday (August 12).
The attack followed an earlier altercation with two men, police said.

Hide AdJack suffered “serious head injuries” and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he sadly died on Sunday (August 14).
A murder investigation was subsequently launched by Lancashire Police.
Has anyone been arrested?
Two men – aged 21 and 28 from Preston – were arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding.
They were later released on police bail while enquiries continued.

Hide AdOfficers said they have identified and spoken to a key witness who helped Jack after the assault and was later seen in Friargate.
Detectives added were to keen speak to anyone who saw the two men described below in the area before or after the altercation.
They may have also been spotted in the city on Thursday evening or the early hours of Friday morning.
What did the men look like?
The first man is described as white, approximately 5ft 9in tall and in his late 20s.

Hide AdHe was wearing a grey Under Armour baseball cap, grey shirt with black stripes and black patterned shorts.
The second man is described as short, of a slim build, with blonde hair.
He was wearing a lime green top and shorts.
They also want to hear from anybody who saw Jack in the area before the assault.
He was wearing a black and white check shirt over a black t-shirt, blue jeans and black trainers.
What have Jack’s family said?

Hide AdPaying tribute to Jack, his family said: “No words can describe the utter devastation we as a family are feeling.
“Jack was a funny, charismatic, amazing young man who had so much to offer this world and we are truly broken that he has been taken from us so soon.
“He will forever be in our hearts and thoughts.”
What have Lancashire Police said?
Det Insp Bryony Midgley, from the Force Major Investigation Team, said: “First and foremost my thoughts remain with Jack’s family and friends. I can’t begin to imagine what they are going through.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their response to our previous appeals, but am still asking people to come forward who could provide information to help us piece together the events leading to Jack’s tragic death.
“Whatever information you have – no matter how insignificant you think it is – may be key to the investigation so please come and speak to us.”
