Preston man imprisoned over wounding in city

A man has been jailed for 40 weeks after he was found guilty of wounding a man.

Sean Nicholas Allen, of Norwich Place, Avenham, Preston, was jailed by The Honorary Recorder of Preston, Judge Robert Altham, at Preston Crown Court.

It relates to an incident on March 23 last year in which the 46-year-old wounded victim Dennis Lawrenson.

Allen was found guilty after a trial at Preston Magistrates’ Court, but the bench deemed their powers inappropriate to sentence him.

Allen previously got a 62 month road ban - one of the longest thought to have been given in Lancashire - for driving matters.
