Preston man arrested after woman receives threatening messages

A Preston man has been arrested on suspicion of sending threatening messages to a woman.

Officers say Abdur Patel, 23, from Deepdale, has been arrested in relation to harassment, making threats to cause criminal damage and sending threatening messages to a woman.

Lancashire Police had issued a public appeal to find Patel, who had been wanted by officers investigating the reports.

He was arrested yesterday evening (Sunday, December 13) and taken into custody.

A police spokesman said: "Further to our appeal for help locating Abdur Patel, 23, from Preston, we have now made an arrest."
