Preston drug dealer pleads guilty to offences but faces sentence delay

The sentencing of a Preston drug dealer has been delayed as the court awaits a report about the welfare of his young family.

Billy Butler, 24, of West Park Avenue, Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston, was caught with 2.7 grams of cocaine and 45.6 grams of cannabis more than two years ago, in April 2018.

He admitted possession with intent to supply a Class A and class B drugs.

He also admits a further charge of drug driving, relating to the same date when he was seen driving a Volkswagen Golf on London Road, Ringway, Walker Street, and Sizehouse Street, in Preston.

Mark Stephenson told Preston Crown Court he had two severely disabled children and that a report was needed into the impact on the family of his eventual sentence.

Judge Sara Dodd agreed to adjourn the case until August 3.
