Police warning to anti-social teens in Preston after 18-year-old detained

The incident happened at the Macdonald's restaurant on Friargate on August 7.

Officers say that the man had been summonsed to court and was warned to leave the city centre.

Police are now warning teens causing problems at the restaurant to stop their anti-social behaviour or face arrest.

A spokesman for the police said: "An 18 year old man was detained by officers on Friargate following a report of assault against staff.

"The man has been summonsed to court and due course will appear in front of the magistrates, he was further advised to leave the city centre or he would face being arrested.

"PCSO Jack appealed to the parents of the problematic teens over the weekend, I will simply say to the teens that frequently cause problems at these premises (and surrounding area) that should you choose to continue to act like this we will continue to gather evidence and either summons you to court or affect an arrest."

The warning comes after a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl were arrested and charged with public order offences, and a 16 year old girl was arrested over an assault at the restaurant last weekend.

All were given bail conditions until the end of the month prohibiting them from entering the city centre as well as a curfew.
