Police swoop on coach at bus station

Several men were being questioned by officers who swooped on what is believed to be an inter city bus.

The drama took place late this afternoon.

An eye witness said coach passengers were being removed, people were being searched and there were several police vehicles at the scene.

A Lancashire police spokesman said: “We were called shortly after 3.30pm this afternoon (Tuesday 16 August 2016) to Preston Bus Station, on Tithebarn Street, after two males were reported to be acting suspiciously on a coach.

“Passengers have been removed from the coach and officers are at the bus station conducting enquiries.

“A man in his thirties has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit criminal damage.”
