Lancashire Police arrest 48-year-old after Preston city centre roof-top stand off
Police closed roads and advised businesses near the scene to shut while the emergency services responded.
A 48-year-old man was arrested after climbing onto a roof in Preston on Sunday afternoon.
Police and fire crews were called to the scene in Lancaster Road at around 2pm, after a man scaled scaffolding at Amounderness House near the markets, which is currently under renovation.

Officers negotiated with the man, who reportedly threw slates from the roof to the street below. The stand off continued until around 6.30pm, when fire crews used an aerial ladder platform to bring him safely down.
Lancashire Police closed roads near the scene and advised a number of pubs to shut while the emergency services worked at the scene.
The force said a 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and remains in custody this morning (Monday, May 11).
