When the rider noticed them, the bike stayed, but the rider went full ‘Houdini’ and made a swift getaway.

A spokesperson for South Ribble Police said: “This e‑bike thought it was auditioning for Fast & Furious: Leyland Drift!”

“The good news? The e‑bike has been seized, so it won’t be causing any more issues for local residents.”

They added: “If you are the rider and you’re reading this. Come and have a chat with us…we’ll even put the kettle on!”
