Police appeal after 9-year-old boy dies in collision
Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses after a nine year old boy died following a collision in Blackburn.
A white BMW 4 Series was travelling along Whalley New Road at 10.55pm on Thursday, August 4, when it was involved in a collision with a nine year old boy who was crossing the road.
The boy suffered multiple injuries and was taken to hospital where he later died.
The driver of the BMW, a 25 year old man from Blackburn, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
PS David Hurst of the Road Policing Unit said: “This is a tragic incident where a young boy has sadly died and my thoughts very much remain with his family at this time. An investigation is underway and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision to contact us as soon as possible.”
