Penwortham dad who failed to stop for police gets a year's driving ban

A driver who sparked a police chase got 10 month in jail, suspended for a year, and a year ban.

Brendan MacFarlane, 25, of Meadow Street, Leyland, admits dangerous driving, failing to stop, having no insurance or licence and making off without payment from a fuel station after committing offences in October 2019.

Judge Beverly Lunt, sitting at Preston Crown Court, had deferred his sentence in August to monitor his progress.

She said he had made “ real efforts” to change, but added: “ He must stop putting other people’s lives in danger by driving like this, including the police who have the duty to try to stop him.
