Pendleside Hospice charity shop in Burnley targeted by burglars
Heartless burglars have broken into Burnley’s Pendleside Hospice shop stealing a large amount of jewellery, clothing and a television.
The break-in happened in the early hours of Thursday Morning at the hospice Keirby Walk shop.
Local entrepreneur, film and television personality David Fishwick, whose community bank shares the same street, has kindly said he will pay for any damage suffered by the hospice.
Louisa Mayor, head of Income Generation at the hospice, said: “It is really heartbreaking for the hospice, the volunteers and staff who work incredibly hard to raise valuable funds for our patients.

“Our community are so generous when it comes to donating to our hospice shops and we rely on them heavily for their support so we are just very upset by the break in.”
Louisa went on to thank Dave and other members of the public who have offered to help.
“On a positive note though we are overwhelmed by the support and wishes we have received. Also, a special thank you to Dave Fishwick who passed our shop on Thursday and offered to cover the cost of a replacement window,” she said.
“Acts of kindness like this make all the difference and we feel incredibly proud to be part of a wonderful community.”
Dave said: “The Pendleside Hospice charity shop next door to the Bank of Dave has had its window smashed.
“The hospice does an amazing job with people needing end-of-life care. I have offered to pay for the window to be replaced at the wonderful Pendleside Hospice.”
