Peter Radford, 34, approached Barry Island Pleasure Park looking for work at the start of the summer.

He and another convicted child sex offender, Benjamin Thomas, 25, from the West Midlands, worked at the funfair for several weeks, before they were arrested by South Wales Police on July 23.

Officers were investigating reports of a missing adult and the pair were held on suspicion of sexual assault.

That investigation was dropped but police discovered Radford and Thomas had both broken court orders because working at the funfair brought them into contact with children.

They had also failed to report to police stations in the West Midlands, which they were required to do regularly.

Radford and Thomas appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on July 24, charged with breaching a risk of sexual harm order and failing to comply with the notification requirements of the Sex Offenders’ Register.

They were both jailed for 10 months.

In 2013, Radford was described as a “predatory paedophile” at Preston Crown Court, where he was convicted of abusing a 13-year-old girl.

He brought her to his home at the time in Brookfield, Preston, where he committed sexual acts against her during a two-day ordeal.

The victim was later found by uniformed response officers after her parents reported her missing from Merseyside. Radford was jailed for four-and-a-half years and given a lifelong Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).
