Notorious thief who targets elderly men back in jail

A thief notorious for stealing from elderly men she befriends is behind bars after targeting a new victim.

Rebecca Reeves, 34, of Liptrott Road, Chorley, befriended the vulnerable 76-year-old man in the street in Chorley and followed him home.

She then turned up at his address, between July 8 and 16, Preston Crown Court heard, and stole £1,470 from his safe and wallet.

The offence put her in breach of the order, which was imposed in 2014 when she and several other women were involved in similar offences.

She admitted theft and the breach and was jailed for 20 months by Recorder McDonald.

It comes three years after Reeves hit the headlines when she was caged for 44 months for exploitingand burgling elderly men for money, and handed the five year CRASBO.

Officers gathered a catalogue of evidence to show she had been responsible for stealing from, and offering services to, vulnerable members of the community, including taking inappropriate sums of money to assist with domestic chores and offering sexual services for financial rewards.
