More than 700 cannabis plants seized in Preston drugs bust

Six properties have been searched by the Lancashire police since 12:15pm yesterday, November 16.

A large cannabis farm was uncovered at a property on Christ Church Street, Preston, at around midday yesterday after the police executed a search warrant.

Since then, groups of officers have continued to search homes at five other addresses across the city in a bid to stop the growth of the class B drug.

Addresses at Jemmett Street, Otway Street, Eldon Street and Trafford Street were also searched as part of the operation.

More than 700 plants, along with electrical and lighting equipment have been seized.

Police were seen breaking through barricaded windows and carrying out drug paraphernalia at the terraced house on Christ Church street at 3pm this afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Lancashire police said: "At around 12.15 pm yesterday, we executed a warrant at an address in Christ Church Street in Preston.

"A significant cannabis set up was found at the scene.

"Officers have since carried out further searches at addresses in Jemmett Street, Otway Street, Eldon Street and two addresses in Trafford Street.

"More than 700 plants, along with electrical and lighting equipment, have been seized."
