Missing Preston man last seen near railway station found 'safe and well'

An urgent appeal was launched to help find a missing man from Preston.

Wilfred Hewitt, 43, had been reported missing from his home address in the Ingol area of Preston.

He had last been seen near Preston railway station on Sunday (August 9), according to police.

Officers said they were growing concerned for his welfare and launched an urgent appeal to find him on August 12.

But they have now confirmed Wilfred was found "safe and well" shortly after the appeal was posted.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "Good news everyone, shortly after our appeal Wilfred Hewitt was found safe and well."
