A man headbutted his girlfriend in front of their baby daughter after she told him he could not go into town with a friend.

He was sentenced to a 12 months community order with up to 30 days rehabilitation to be supervised by the probation service, ordered to do 80 hours unpaid work for the community and told to pay £100 costs with £85 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.Prosecutor Sarah Perkins, said on March 3 at 9pm a 999 call was made to police stating Knights had assaulted his girlfriend at their home.Knights had headbutted his partner causing redness and swelling to her face. He had also smashed a mirror and bashed a hole in the wardrobe.Knights had a record of 40 previous offences some for assault and damage.
