Man found unconscious with fractured skull in Morecambe
A man has been taken to hospital with a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain after he was found unconscious in a Morecambe road.
The 45-year-old was found unconscious in Albert Road on Tuesday and was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary for emergency treatment.
Police are investigating how the man suffered the head injuries, but detectives believe he was the victim of a vicious attack.
He remains in a serious condition at the hospital and police are appealing for anyone who might have witnessed the man being assaulted.
But the force has yet to say when the attack is believed to have happened. It has been approached for more details.
DC Peter Bennett from Lancaster CID said: "We are looking at how and why the victim has come to be seriously injured and need anyone who witnessed the attack or who may have CCTV footage of it to speak to us.
"If you saw anything or anyone acting suspicious in the area at the time, please call us on 101 quoting incident reference 1591 of March 3 or email [email protected]"
