Man charged with raping 20-year-old woman in Catterall remanded in custody

A man alleged to have put a rope around a woman’s neck during what the prosecution say is a rape attack has appeared at court.

Twenty-five-year-old Connor Fearon was remanded in custody by Blackpool magistrates.

As he was taken from the dock he shouted: "I love you, Dad," to his father in the public gallery.

Fearon is charged with raping a 20-year-old woman on Tan Yard Lane, Catterall, near Garstang on December 19 at 3am.

He is also charged with carrying out a sex attack on the woman and making threats to kill her.

The cases were sent to Preston Crown Court where Fearon will appear on February 20. He will remain in custody until then.

Prosecutor Sarah Heywood successfully applied for the remand.

He is a mechanic by trade and his partner is pregnant by him.
