Man assaulted in Accrington pub dies 11 days later, but police are not treating his death as linked

A 33-year-old man was was assaulted by a group of men at The Commercial Hotel pub on Church Street shortly before 6pm on Friday, March 20.
The man was left with a broken nose and a black eye as a result of the attack.

Hide AdThe victim - named as local man Andy Ashworth - died 11 days later. His death is not being treated as linked to the assault, police have confirmed.


Police have now released CCTV images of three men they would like to speak to in connection with the assault.
PC Umair Khan, from Blackburn Police, said: "Although we don’t believe that the earlier incident has caused Mr Ashworth’s death, we are still looking to find who was responsible for assaulting him.
"We need to speak to the men pictured and so if you recognise any of them, please get in touch."
