Man arrested after 'assault' at Preston train station

A man was arrested at Preston train station after he allegedly assaulted a revenue officer, say police.

British Transport Police were called to the incident which happened at around 10am on August 9.

The 42 year-old was also arrested on suspicion of fraud.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to Preston station where a 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of common assault and fraud.

"He was taken to custody for questioning."

The revenue officer is not thought to have been seriously injured.
