Man abducted outside Preston Police Station is found beaten and 'covered in blood' 16 miles away


Police were called to the One Stop shop in Rufford Road, in the Crossens area of Southport, where the man was found in a state of distress on Wednesday evening (October 28).
The man, aged in his 50s, told officers that he had been abducted from Fish Street in Preston - just across the road from Preston Police Divisional Headquarters in Lancaster Road North.

Hide AdHe had reportedly been found 'covered in blood' after being savagely beaten during the 16-mile drive from Preston to Southport.


Members of the public found the man slumped against the wall of the One Stop shop in Southport where he was dumped by his kidnappers shortly before 7pm on Wedneday.
No arrests have been made and police have not said whether the man's abductors had been known to him.
He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged. Lancashire Police said an investigation is underway.

Hide AdA police spokesman said: "The man reported he had been taken from Fish Street, Preston, and transported to the junction of Rufford Road and New Lane, Southport.
"While in the vehicle the man was subjected to an assault and suffered facial injuries.
"He was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
