Man, 30s, in serious condition after 'falling' from roof in Chorley town centre
A man suffered serious injuries after he ‘fell’ from a roof in Chorley town centre at the weekend.
The man, aged in his 30s, was involved in a tense standoff with police in Halliwell Street at around 3.05pm on Saturday (April 25).
Officers negotiated with him and tried to resolve the situation safely, but he ‘fell’ from the roof around 10 minutes later. He was taken to hospital and remains in a serous condition.
Following the incident, Lancashire Police said a ‘mandatory referral’ had been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct. This is a legal requirement for police forces who must report certain serious incidents for independent oversight, regardless of whether a formal complaint has been made.

“Officers attended and immediately began to negotiate with the man who is aged in his 30s.
“Around 3.18pm, the man fell from the roof and suffered serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he remains.
