Man, 18, stabbed in leg and chest in 'targeted attack' in Morecambe

Police are searching for two men believed to have been involved in a stabbing in Morecambe.

Police were called at 5.40pm on Saturday, September 5 to a report that a man had suffered stab wounds in Morecambe.

It is believed that the victim, an 18-year-old local man, received stab wounds to his leg and chest whilst getting inside a vehicle in an alley off Regent Road.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance to be treated. His injuries aren’t believed to be life threatening.

Two men left the scene and are being sought by police.

North West Ambulance service said they were called to Buckingham Road near Regent Park in Morecambe at 5.35pm and took a patient to hospital.

DI Andy Ellis from Morecambe Police said: “We are actively searching for the people we suspect were involved and I would like to reassure the public that we think this was a targeted attack and that the people involved are known to each other. We do not believe there is a threat to the wider public.

“If you know anything about what happened or the whereabouts of the two men involved, please call 101 quoting incident reference 1362 of September 5.”
