Leyland man wanted in connection with assault has links to Preston, Bamber Bridge and Chorley

The public have been urged not to approach a man who is being hunted by police following an assault.

Adam Bhamji, also known as 'Adam Birch' or 'Birchy', is wanted by police in connection with assault and on recall to prison.

The 38-year-old is described as 5ft 9in tall, of large, muscular build, with short black hair, brown eyes and tribal tattoos.

Bhamji, of Morley Croft, Farington Moss, has links to Bamber Bridge, Chorley, Freckleton and Preston.

"Police are advising people not to approach him," a spokesman said.

"If you do know where he is provide a description of his clothing and location."
