LATEST: Attempted murder accused makes first court appearance

A man has appeared in court accused of the attempted murder of woman in Leyland.

Aiden Shepherd, 20, of Merlin Grove, Leyland, spoke only to confirm his details.

Prosecuting, Martine Connah asked for the cvase to be committed directly to the higher court.

Shepherd indicated no plea to the charge of attempted murder and is due to appear at Preston Crown Court on May 29.

It came after a 19-year-old woman was found with injuries to her neck on April 26 on West Paddock in Leyland.
