Lancashire Police officer filmed kicking man in head in Oswaldtwistle arrest

A Lancashire Police officer is under investigation after he was filmed kicking a drink driving suspect in the head.

The officer was caught on camera as he dragged the man out of a Ford Focus, stamped on his back, kicked him in the head and then repeatedly slapped him while he was handcuffed on the ground.

The incident was filmed outside SPAR in Thwaites Road, Oswaldtwistle at around 12.30pm on Friday and was later shared on social media.

Lancashire Police said the officer is being investigated by its professional standards department and has been removed from operational roles while the investigation takes place.

A police spokesman said: "We are aware of the video, and it is being investigated by our professional standards department.

"The officer has been removed from operational roles until the matter is investigated."
