Man breached criminal order

A man who breached his criminal behaviour order after an incident at a house in Leyland has been given a suspended jail term.

Preston Magistrates’ Court was told how Zak Joseph Kane, of Mendip Road, Leyland, smashed a window at a woman’s home in the town on March 31,

The 22-year-old pleaded guilty to charges of criminal damage and breaching his order by using or threatening violence towards someone.

The magistrates’ bench imposed six weeks in prison suspended for 12 months.

The chairman said the offence was serious because the offences were committed within days of a community penalty being imposed.

The court heard and children and family members were present in the house.

The defendant was also ordered to pay compensation of £200 to his victim.

Man shouts abuse at ‘all and sundry’

An alcoholic man has admitted being drunk and disorderly after an incident in which police officers were verbally abused in ripon Street, Plungington, Preston, on April 11.

Glen Adam Howard, 38, of Cadley Causeway, Fulwood, Preston, was asked to leave an address and became abusive, Preston Magistrates’ were told.

The court was told he was “heavily under the influence of alcohol” and started using abusive words to “all and sundry”.

Howard, who had attended court with a friend and bowed his head in the witness stand, said: “ I’m tired as hell. It’s all mumbo jumbo.”

His friend told the bench he had recently relapsed.

He was given a six month discharge but must pay a £20 surcharge and £85 costs.

Mark Justin Fearn, 38, of Wesham Park Drive, Wesham, near Preston, was found guilty of failing to give driver information and must pay a £660 fine, £66 surcharge and £85 costs.

Martin Anthony Hughes, 28, of Euston Road, Morecambe, was jailed for 12 weeks after committing shoplifting offences across the resort and must pay £404.05 compensation.

Silvui Florin, 19, of Skeffington Road, Preston, must pay a £130 fine after admitting stealing a pair of trainers from a sports store.

Alison Padmore, 56, of Halsall Lane, Ormskirk, was discharged for a year after admitting being drunk and disorderly in Preston and must pay a £20 surcharge and £85 costs.

Daniel Turner, 34, of Goldburn Close, Preston, was discharged for a year after admitting theft and must pay a £20 surcharge and £85 costs.
