Man went on a wrecking spree

A man went on a wrecking rampage in a woman’s home, a court has heard.

Liam Anthony Stocks, of West Tosberry Farm, Brideford, North Devon, damaged the front door lock before vandalising items in the property in Walton-le-Dale, near Preston, on January 26 this year, Preston magistrates were told.The 30-year-old defendant damaged a tank in the front room, glass in the internal living room door, a fridge freezer, a dining room table, kitchen plates, a dressing table, a dolls house and a bedroom door.

The repair bill amounts to £788 of damage.

The bench imposed a restraining order and ordered him to pay a 3600 fine.,

He must also pay his victim £788 in compensation, and pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting a charge of criminal damage.

Drink driver, 31, assaults officer

A drink driver who assaulted a female police officer in front of children has been given 16 weeks in prison, suspended for two years.

Gary Cross, 31, of The Heritage, Leyland, appeared before Preston magistrates after an incident on December 18 when his BMW was stopped on Hough Lane in Leyland.

He admitted failing to give a breath test, possessing cannabis, assault and driving while unfit through drink.

He must do 200 hours unpaid work and was banned from driving for three years.

The bench said the fact it happened in the presence of children, causing them distress, aggravated the matter.

He must pay compensation of £100 to the PC as well as a £115 surcharge and £120 costs.

Peter Reed, 67, of Bonds Lane, Adlington, Chorley, admits two counts of failing to make a tacograph entry, and driving more hours than permitted, and must pay a £104 fine, £30 victim surcharge and £700 costs.

Mohammed Riaz Patel, 36, of St Paul’s Road, Preston, was jailed for 30 weeks after admitting a string of thefts from shops and must pay a £140 victim surcharge.

Colin Benson, 51, of Towngate, Eccleston, Chorley was found guilty of driving without insurance and must pay a £660 fine, £66 victim surcharge and £150 costs.

Zed for Sheds, of Manor Avenue, Fulwood, Preston, was found guilty of failing to give driver information and must pay a £1,125 fine, £112 surcharge and £85 costs.

Samantha Addison, 44, of Calder Street, Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston, was found guilty of failing to give driver information and must pay a £660 fine, £66 surcharge and £85 costs.

Deborah Christine Hayes, 47, of Gammull Lane, Ribbleton, Preston, admits stealing items from Asda and must pay an £80 fine, £30 surcharge and £75 costs.

Andrew Craig, 54, of Hinchley Way, Swinton, Manchester, was given a restraining order and must do 80 hours unpaid work after admitting harassing a woman with text messages and must pay an £85 surcharge and £85 costs.

Peter Crosbie, 34, of Westhead Road, Croston, near Preston, was discharged for a year after admitting damaging a mobile phone but must pay £130 compensation, a £20 surcharge and £85 costs.

Shauna White, 26, of Maple Leaf Close, Ingol, Preston, admits driving without insurance and must pay a £120 fine, £30 surcharge and £85 costs.
