Cannabis farm case

A MAN who cultivated a mini cannabis farm in Preston is to be sentenced before Preston Crown Court on August 2.

Samuel McGee, 48, Muncaster Road, Deepdale, Preston, was arrested after 26 plants were found in a property in the city during a police raid on March 30.

He was granted unconditional bail after indicating a guilty plea to producing cannabis to Preston magistrates, which committed his case to the higher court.

LANCASTER: A man who assaulted two men in Lancaster has been jailed for 16 weeks after a court heard he had a history of violence.

Winston Rios, 24, of HMP Rochester, attacked the men on March 29, magistrates heard.

He was ordered to pay a £80 victim surcharge and will serve the term on top of his current sentence.

PRESTON: A woman who assaulted a man in Preston must do 100 hours unpaid work and is banned from Hogarth’s bar for a year, magistrates have ruled.

Estelle Whalley, 42, of Hawksbury Drive, Penwortham, was also ordered to pay £100 compensation after admitting assault.

PRESTON: Paul Damien Donlin, 34, of Clayton Street, Blackburn, admits drunkenly assaulting a woman in a domestic incident and was jailed for four weeks after magistrates heard he had a history of violence.

PRESTON: A man behind a cannabis farm in Penwortham will be sentenced before Preston Crown Court on August 2.

Samuel Howarth, 29, of Wolseley Road, Preston, admits possessing 26 snap bags of cocaine, and a charge of producing cannabis.

He was granted unconditional bail after entering his pleas before Preston Magistrates’ Court.

PRESTON: Jeffrey Morris, 37, of Walton Parade, Preston, was given a two month curfew by Preston Magistrates’ Court after admitting using threatening or abusive behaviour.

It comes after an incident on May 20 in the city.

He was also ordered to pay an £85 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

PRESTON: A prolific shoplifter has been jailed for two weeks after admitting stealing £125 of meat from Sainsburys.

Tracey Jamieson, 37, of St Philip’s Road, Preston, must also pay a £115 surcharge.

David Read, 29, of Edward Street, Lancaster, was ordered to pay a £120 fine, £30 surcharge and £85 costs after admitting possessing cannabis.

Fozeela Bhatti, 23, of Town Lane, Whittle-le-Woods, Chorley, admits driving without due care and attention and must pay a £140 fine, £30 surcharge and £85 costs.

Harry Hough, 39, of Cotswold Road, Chorley, admits stealing 30 packets of steak worth £150 from Aldi and was ordered to pay a £120 fine, £30 surcharge, £50 compensation and £85 costs.

Louisa King, 40, of Gloucester Road, Chorley, admits stealing 30 packets of steak worth £150 from Aldi and was ordered to pay a £120 fine, £30 surcharge, £50 compensation and £85 costs.

Stuart Lord, 46, of Hollinshead Street, Chorley, must pay a £15 fine, £65 compensation, a £19 surcharge and £70 costs after admitting stealing memory cards from Boots.

Aidan James Stillwell, 30, of Shakesphere Road, Preston, is banned from B and M for six months after admitting three counts of theft and must pay an £85 surcharge, £85 costs and £20 compensation.

Daniel Buckley, 31, of Well Orchard, Bamber Bridge, was banned from driving for 36 months after admitting failing to give a breath test and must pay a £250 fine, £25 surcharge, and £85 costs.

Leon Jones, 21, of Bannister Hall Drive, Higher Walton, Preston, admits driving without due care and attention and must pay a £40 fine, £20 surcharge and £50 costs.

Stephen John Ianson, 25, of Wheatsheaf Avenue, Longridge, admits being disorderly and assaulting a PC and must pay a £160 fine, £50 compensation, and £50 costs.

Gourpeaj Singh, 37, of Ashfield Road, Chorley, admits being disorderly and must pay a £40 fine, £30 surcharge and £85 costs.
